In the third T20I of India Women’s tour of Bangladesh, held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, India Women registered an emphatic victory against Bangladesh Women. Winning the toss and choosing to bowl, India executed their plan flawlessly, restricting Bangladesh to a modest total and chasing it down with ease.
Bangladesh’s Innings:
Bangladesh managed to put up a total of 117/8 in their 20 overs, despite a shaky start. Dilara Akter was the standout performer, scoring a brisk 39 off 27 deliveries, which included five boundaries. Nigar Sultana also chipped in with a steady 28 from 36 balls. However, the Indian bowlers kept the scoring in check, with Radha Yadav being particularly effective, claiming 2 wickets for 22 runs from her four overs.
India’s Innings:
In response, India Women reached the target comfortably, scoring 118/3 in just 18.3 overs. The innings was anchored by Shafali Verma‘s aggressive 51 off 38 balls, featuring eight fours. Smriti Mandhana supported well with a solid 47 from 42 deliveries, including five fours and a six. The partnership laid a strong foundation which allowed India to coast towards the target with more than an over to spare.
Bangladesh’s bowlers struggled to make significant inroads into the Indian batting lineup. Nahida Akter managed to take a wicket but gave away 21 runs in her 3.3 overs. Rabeya Khan and Ritu Moni each took a wicket but couldn’t stop the flow of runs.
