Noor Ahmad, on Wednesday (April 24), made an early impact in the ongoing game between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium even before bowling his first over of the game.
The Afghanistan spinner took two catches in the fourth over of Delhi Capitals' innings to help his team get rid of both the openers. He first took a regulation catch at deep square leg to send back the dangerous Jake Fraser-McGurk before coming up with an absolutely outstanding effort two balls later to dismiss Prithvi Shaw.
Sandeep Warrier bowled a short delivery and Prithvi Shaw decided to play a pull shot. With not much room to play the shot, Shaw did not make a good connection with the ball and ended up miscuing it. However, it looked the ball would fall well in front of Noor Ahmad and Shaw would be safe.
The GT player, however, had other ideas. Noor Ahmad came charging in from deep backward square leg and dived sideways to take the catch just inches above the ground. With the timely dive, he managed to get his fingers under the ball. The on-field umpires had to send the decision upstairs and after a while the third umpire adjudged it a legitimate catch from Noor Ahmad.

Prithvi Shaw returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs off seven balls. Before him, Warrier had sent back Fraser-McGurk. The in-form Australian got the start and raced away to 23 runs off 13 balls with the help of two fours and as many sixes before hitting one straight to Noor Ahmad.
After losing both the openers, DC lost the wicket of Shai Hope inside the powerplay as well. Warrier was the bowler once again as he sent back the West Indies star for 5 runs in the sixth over. At the time of writing this report, DC was on 44 for 3.
