It doesn’t get much better in the world of hockey than the Minnesota high school state tournaments.
That was the case again this week as Cretin-Derham Hall sophomore forward Max Anderson went viral for his unique celebration of a goal in the Raiders’ Class AA quarterfinal matchup against Centennial.
Early in the third period with Cretin-Derham Hall trailing 3–2, Anderson tied up the game with a wrist shot that sailed past goaltender Easton Cody. Anderson then skated back toward his own net, placed his glove on his stick and crouched down to take an imaginary photo with his teammates in celebration.

Cretin-Derham Hall went on to beat Centennial 4–3 in overtime Thursday but lost 6–1 to Chanhassan in the semifinals on Friday. The Class AA championship between Chanhassan and Edina will take place Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center.
