Watch: Mayank Markande takes a blinder to send Ramandeep Singh packing

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spinner Mayank Markande put in a terrific effort in the field during the ongoing game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The third match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

KKR batter Ramadeep Singh changed the momentum in the game of his team after he was promoted up the order. The all-rounder came out all guns blazing and played his role to perfection after the team lost four quick wickets in the game.

Ramandeep Singh punished Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers and slammed them all over the park. With the way he was batting, the all-rounder looked all set for his half-century and it needed something special to send him back in the hut at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

And Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) spinner Mayank Markande exactly did that. He put in a terrific effort in the field and made sure that his team saw the back of Ramandeep Singh. It was during the first ball of the 13th over of Pat Cummins’ when the incident took place.

Pat Cummins hit the good length hard and got extra zip off the surface. Ramandeep Singh tried to play the lofted drive over the off-side but chipped it off the inside half to the right of cover. Mayank Markande leaped to perfection and gobbled a blistering catch.

Here’s the video:

Ramandeep Singh ended with an innings of 35 runs off 17 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 205 and slammed 1 four and 4 sixes in his innings. His knock gave KKR much-needed momentum and took from 50 to 100 in no time.

Mayank Markande returns with the figures of 2/39

Mayank Markande had a decent outing with the ball in the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Although he conceded a few runs, he picked up two crucial wickets for his team.

Mayank Markande removed Phil Salt first to provide his team with a crucial breakthrough. The batter was going great guns with the bat at the top and slammed a vital half-century. He removed him in the 14th over. The batter scored his third half-century in the IPL and ended with an innings of 54 runs of 40 balls.

If this was not enough, Mayank Markande then removed Nitish Rana as well. The leg-spinner removed the left-hander for 9 runs off 11 balls. His spell provided SRH with crucial breakthroughs at the crucial time. He returned with the figures of 2/39 and made sure that his team restricted runs in the middle overs.

KKR had a solid finish with the bat in the game. Andre Russell (64*) slammed a brutal half-century whereas Rinku Singh (23) supported him well. The hosts posted a gigantic total of 208 runs on the board. For SRH, apart from Mayank Markande, T Natarajan picked three wickets. They would now be hoping to get off the brutal start with the bat and chase the target to kick start their IPL 2024 campaign on high.
