Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli played a brutal knock for his team against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 30th game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

In the chase of 288 runs, Virat Kohli came out all guns blazing and played an impactful inning for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. He went after the bowlers right from the start and made sure that he took his team off the flyer.

Virat Kohli hit some sensational hits in his innings and put the opposition under pressure. The right-hander was at the top of the game. But the introduction of Mayank Markande changed the course of the game. The opening batter perished to leg-spinner yet again in his career and took the long walk back to the pavilion.

During the 2nd ball of the 7th over, Mayank Markande bowled a googly that was bowled at a slow pace. Virat Kohli tried to slog sweep and was beaten in flight as the ball hit the middle and leg stump to end the innings of the batter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After taking his wicket, Mayank Markande erupted in joy as he outsmarted the best batter of the IPL. Virat Kohli on the other hand was livid with himself as he smashed the bat onto his pad while walking off. He completely misread the line too.

Here's the video:

Virat Kohli played an entertaining innings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for his team. The opening batter played a magnificent innings of 42 runs off just 20 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 210 and slammed 6 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

After he got out, Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Faf du Plessis (62) and Dinesh Karthik (83) tried to keep their team in the hunt. Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended with 262 runs and fell short of 25 runs and bagged their 5th straight loss of the tournament.

The guys put up their hand and never gave up (in the run chase) - Faf du Plessis

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis credited his team for giving up their best with the bat. He believes that they gave away 30-40 runs extra with the ball and admitted that they need to freshen up and come up with a positive mindset. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:

"The guys put up their hand and never gave up (in the run chase). It was good to see the fight, 30-40 runs from the bowling perspective was a bit too much. It's important to go away and freshen your mind, it's such a mental game. Sometimes you feel your mind is going to explode. When you get back to the contest you have to give full commitment."

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be next seen in action when they will take on Kolkata Knight Riders on 21st April at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
